Flash fiction Friday #37

Hello everyone and welcome to another flash fiction Friday! Each week a group of writers write 100 words to describe a given picture. Here is mine, enjoy:

SWAN SONG

'A star is born' they said, when Sofia sang at the end of this pier fifty years ago.
'She has the voice of an angel!' sang the reviews in the local press.
The star shaped lights reflected a stream of talent - all of them walking on the damp wooden boards on their way to the end of pier club.
Sofia had wonderful memories of a glistening career that began in the club. Each year she was drawn back to sit in the darkness and reminisce.
Closing her eyes Sofia drifted into her final sleep. Loud applause and shouts of praise echoed around her head.

Thank you for stopping by, l hope you enjoyed my piece. Please leave me a comment and take the time to visit the other writers by clicking on the link below:

Have a great weekend!

  3. What a different take on this. Very nicely done. The reminiscing is a beautiful reminder of things we all love and yet do so little to obtain. Beautiful.
