Six Sentence Sunday

Hi Everyone and welcome to another Six sentences. Please leave me a comment at bottom to let me know you've been, and click on the above link to view some more sixes!
I'm carrying on with my latest release 'Master Me, Master You' Tom is happy with Jenna's skirt and they proceed to take a stroll through the park, enjoy!:

He told me a little bit about himself and asked me many questions, things like where did l like to go, what movies did I like, and all the usual normal things that new acquaintances might ask. Looking back now l realise that he didn’t actually give too much away about himself, no personal details at all. In retrospect l suppose he was probing me, his tone was quite clinical. Did l live alone? How recent was my previous boyfriend? This one excited me; did it mean that he wanted to be my current boyfriend?

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Michael dared to enter the washroom fully clothed. It was foolish of him and he instantly regretted his decision when he saw Steven's angry face. Paul just stared at the floor, not wanting to be involved in any reprimands.
"Ok, so l've left my jeans on," Michael tried, "It's not as if you're without fault Steven, you're still wearing your jumper!"
"Kneel before me." Growled Steven.
Michael lowered one knee down to the tiles, Paul decided to leave. He knew what michael would have to do to rectify the situation.
"Remove your trousers." Stevens command was final.

Good Lover, Bad Lover

Okay everyone what makes a good lover? Yes l know, can open, worms everywhere! But we probably do all have views on the subject. Is it Eric Claptons 'Slow hand' that does it for most of us girls? Do we crave excitement from our men in the bedroom? How about someone who can read our minds as well as our bodies and instinctively know what we want? Hmm, yes a mind reader, l think for most women that would make life easier some of the time. But come on, we've all read Cosmo' we know that it is up to us to show our men what we like don't we? We have to guide them by a series of appreciative moans and gentle hints, we can even show them, if we're brave enough, by touching ourselves the way that we would like them to touch us. So therefore, there is no such thing as a bad lover right?
Well no, l don't agree. I actually think that some people, male and female, will never be good lovers. Before you inundate me with angry comments let me just explain where l am coming from.
When l was younger and had my first long term sexual partner l believed that everyone could be a great lover. My boyfriend at the time was always rough, he used to squash my breasts beneath him because even though it hurt me, he liked to feel them against his body. I explained that l didn't like this, in fact l didn't like any of his sexual techniques (though of course l didn't tell him that) he was rough like l said, but he also had no sense of rhythm (something that is surely vital in good sex). I thought it was my fault, l was very young (17) and didn't have anything to compare him to. I didn't even know my own body well enough to encourage him to do what l liked. He was much older (22) and had plenty of experience, however this did not make him a better lover. At 18 l bought a vibrator and a couple of sex magazines and experimented with myself.
There have been other lovers, also long term, but sadly they also seemed to do what they wanted to do, even though l tried to persuade them otherwise. If l was on top, setting the pace, they would soon tire of this and fling me underneath them in a flurry of selfish passion, afterwards they would have a half hearted attempt at bringing me to climax as quickly as possible so that they could go to sleep. This would inevitably result in a trip to the bathroom where l could do the job so much better alone. Nobody wants to feel that someone is doing them a duty by trying to make them climax. I realise that a lot of people will be reading this and criticising me for not being stronger with my lovers. But lt's hard isn't it?
I am a very sensual being. there is nothing wrong with hot passionate quickies, l make a living out of writing about them! But oh, stroke me, dress me up, kiss me, play with me!
I have a superb partner now. I think it's because he is every bit as sensual as l am. We make love for hours (something l never really believed happened in real life before) l dress up for him and he takes the time to appreciate the effort l have made. He loves my body and doesn't just want to use it (unless l want him too!) and l get to play with his for as long as l like! We talk, we listen, we have fun.
So, is it just a compatability thing? Maybe not all women would appreciate such attention? I know a lot of men are not in touch with their sensuality. Many feel threatened, for example, by the fact that we masturbate, and maybe even watch a little porn. But then l'm sure there are many women out there who feel threatened by these sexual releases in their men? Many will never experience the act of giving yourself completely to another.
Maybe l wouldn't have either if my life hadn't changed, but l'm so glad lt did!

Jacqueline George and Yellow Silk Dreams

Hi Everyone, I am happy to have with me today author and publisher Jacqueline George!
Below she tells us about her experience in the publishing world and what drove her to set up her own eBook 'shop window':

Jacqueline George:

'A long time ago, in the mists of time I sat down to write a book. I did it for the joy of creation, and it was fun. I enjoyed myself so much, I even took a correspondence course in writing, though I can’t say a learned much. The next step was getting it published, and here I ran full tilt into The Book Trade.
I’m not going to bore with a tale of disillusionment. You’ve heard it all before, and this one was nothing special, except perhaps I learnt more slowly than most that no-one cares! My book is good? Who cares! My book is commercial? Who cares! My book is unique, lovingly crafted, great to read, better than 80% of the junk in the airport bookshop? You’ve guessed - who cares!
It took me ten years to finally accept that a) I write good quality books and b) The Book Trade did not care. Getting noticed is a lottery, and my books were not even being assessed. I had very few rejections - because no-one took the time to read my queries and synopses.
I finally accepted that my involvement with The Book Trade was never going to end happily, except for one small light on the horizons. eBooks! The first epublishers were just starting.
I finally broke into the literary world, and did quite well. One of my titles was in Amazon’s top ten for its class for 18 months, and I actually earned some money.
My ebook sales were one of the casualties of the Kindle revolution. I changed epublishers. That helped a little but by now a flood of new material was hitting the market, and I was not writing what the market wanted. I live in Australia, and was able to hang on by releasing paperback editions of my novel on the local market. Only for a while - now the bricks-and-mortar bookstores are selling shoes or coffee, and I’m back to ebooks.
With a difference! Now no-one is allowed to look down their nose at my books. I have earned my stripes and when it comes to writing, I might not be brilliant but I can certainly look Dan Brown and The Da Vinci Code in the eye. I have a good, solid list of novels, and I am building up a stock of novella material. If The Book Trade is not working out for me, it is not my fault.
Once an author dumps their unreasonable self-doubts, life looks different. Now I know I need to sell ebooks, as many as possible, in as many places as possible. Producing them is not difficult, and I have my own imprint Q~Press Publishing to handle my books, and those of friends who need a technical hand. I have even turned epublishers down when they are looking for original work. What can they offer me? Tiny royalties and Byzantine contracts that lock up my work ‘for the life of the copyright’. If you did not realise, that translates into 70 years after I am dead and buried. Do they think I am so stupid?
So how to sell your work? We definitely don’t need more epublishers. Some might earn their money, but my publishers have earned far more from my books that I ever have, and never did any real promotion for me. Everyone is getting into epublishing, including old-style literary agents, but no-one seems to have new ideas about how authors are rewarded for their work.
What do we need? To be honest, I’m not completely sure, but I am favouring authors’ cooperatives. If a group of authors who trust each other get together to sell books of similar style and genre, readers can come to their shop window with confidence that everything on display is good quality and worth reading. And the group can sell each others’ books, leveraging their marketing power and extending their reach. This is a way forward, and allows new or unknown authors to compete in the market place.
That’s a good start, but I think authors need more. Proper royalties, for a start, and they need to keep real control of their copyrights. The cooperative will naturally understand this, because they are authors themselves.
So, with a group of like-minded authors and a friendly ewholesaler, I have just started a shop window called Yellow Silk Dreams. We produce short, sexy romance and sell it for less than the cost of a coffee. There is no publisher’s contract, and the books remain ours to sell wherever and whenever we want. We receive all the revenue from sales, after the distribution costs. It is just a shop window, but a shop run by authors who help each other sell books, because every visitor to the site will see all the titles, and hopefully will come back for more.
I think this is going to work, and can’t wait to post more titles, from my friends, new members, and myself too...'

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello everyone welcome to my blog and to another six sentences. Thank you so much for coming by each week and leaving me comments, l really do appreciate them. Here are another six from my latest release 'Master Me, Master You', enjoy!

When it reached 2.15pm l thought that perhaps he wasn’t coming, that he had changed his mind because l had let him down, l was sad, then angry, then hugely disappointed. Just as l was about to leave he showed up, striding towards me with a confident swagger and a smug expression. I waited for his response to my skirt. He stood directly in front of me and lowered his gaze.
“Stand up.” He said.

Carrie Ann Ryan

Hello Everyone, please join me in welcoming Fantastic author Carrie Ann Ryan To my Blog today! Leave a comment at the end to be in with a chance to win a PDF of  'An Alpha's Path' due for release 5th December!

Hi Carrie, thank you for dropping in to my blog today, it’s great to have you here.

Hi Gemma! Thank you so much for letting me stop by! I love your site.

I see that you have a new book out on release December 5th; could you tell us something about it?

It’s called an Alpha’s Path. Its book 1 of my seven book Redwood Pack series. I’m super excited.

Here is the blurb:

Melanie is a twenty-five year old chemist who has spent all of her adult life slaving at school. With her PhD in hand, she's to start her dream job, but before she does, her friend persuades her to relax and try to live again. A blind date set up through her friends seems like the perfect solution. Melanie can take one night away from the lab and let her inner vixen out on a fixed blind date - a chance to get crazy with a perfect stranger. The gorgeous hunk she's to meet exceeds her wildest dreams – be he is more than what he appears and Melanie's analytical mind goes into overdrive.

Kade, a slightly older werewolf (at over one hundred years), needs a night way from the Pack. Too many responsibilities and one near miss with a potential mate made Kade hide in his work, the only peace he can find. His brother convinces him to meet the sexy woman for a one night of fun. What could it hurt? But when he finds this woman could be his mate, can he convince her to leave her orderly, sane world and be with him and his wolf-half, for life?

Where do you get your wonderful book covers from?

My crit partner Leia Shaw and her Hubby make them. I’m absolutely in love. Aren’t they pretty?

I tell them what I want, and then Leia and I find the pics we want. Then Leia’s Hubby works his magic. *sigh* I love them!

Where do you draw your inspiration for your stories, characters and settings?

Oh my! Everywhere and everything. Kade was what I wanted in an Alpha. He’s strong yet caring. Mel is sadly me. LOL She’s a quirky, sarcastic, chemist. However if you all hate her – I will lie and say she has nothing to do with me. LOL
But my setting came from the fact that my grandparents live up there and I fell in love with the trees.

When did you first begin to write novels?

Actually, only since last NaNoWriMo last November. I’ve always been in school, working on science. But three years ago or so, I started reading romance. When I did, I found myself wanting to share the stories that started coming up in my head.
When I was little I played make believe numerous times and came up with entire new worlds, I’m just happy I get to do it again.
Do you ever suffer from writers block, and if so what do you do to get going again?

Yes. I think every writer does at some point during the day or week. If I can’t write the book I’m in, then I go to another WIP. If I can’t do that, then I pick up a book. I love reading, and sometimes just picking up another world helps.
However, since I write paranormal, I try and not read the genre when I’m in the middle of a WIP.

What is your favourite book outside of Erotica?

Hmm...I actually love a YA book called the Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong. It’s a paranormal, the last in a trilogy. I fell in love with the hero, Derek. Plus, he’s a werewolf, what’s not to like?

Do you have a fantasy that you don’t mind sharing with us?

Oh my! Hmm... well, I’ve always wanted to have *ahem* fun outside. We aren’t that adventurous, so it would be nice LOL. I’m pretty tame.

If you could change anything about your life, what would it be?

Other than not being sick? Not much. I like the choices I’ve made. If I didn’t have MS, then I would be able to have children naturally. But I’ve always been open with the fact that we want to adopt. So really, I wouldn’t change anything.

Do you have a favourite fictional character and what makes them special?

Spade from the Night Huntress series. He is so gallant and damn sexy. The whole Cherry Room Shower scene had me looking over my shoulder to make sure no one read what I was reading. And he has a British accent. Yum.

If you could become a member of the opposite sex for 24 hours what would you do?

Um... I don’t know. I love being a woman. The only part I don’t like is the fact that I’m in a heavily male competitive field in Nuclear Chemistry. So if I could get a grant that would be awesome. LOL

Wow! I’m boring. But Kade and Melanie aren’t, I promise. LOL

Thank you so much Gemma for having me!

Excerpt from 'An Alpha's Path':

Melanie sat at her table and checked her watch. He was only three minutes late. That didn’t mean he was going to stand her up. Right? He just wasn’t a perpetually early person like her. It wasn’t evidence that they weren’t compatible.
Compatible? Gawd. She needed another drink. This was just for one night. One night only – if he even showed.
She let out a deep breath and was about to order another drink when she caught sight of an absolutely gorgeous specimen of man.
His body towered over six feet with wide shoulders and a trim waist. The kind of guy displayed on one of those silly romance novel covers. Dark brown, almost black hair, that barely reached his shoulders begged for her hands to tangle in them. A few luscious locks fell into his eyes.
Those eyes.
Deep green eyes set under dark lashes. Pools of jade, swallowing her whole. They were piercing and shifted throughout the room, taking in his surroundings. Yet it felt as though he never let his eyes leave her. Oh my. Mel fanned her face before blushing when she realized what she was doing. Damn he was beautiful.
He practically prowled through the room drawing the attention of almost every woman and even some of the men. An almost animalistic wave of seduction ebbed from him.
Damn.
Please, if there was a God, let this be the mysterious Kade Jamenson. Please. Larissa didn’t give her a picture or description of his looks as she said it would ruin the moment of first meeting. Melanie hadn’t agreed when she read that, but if this were Kade she would take back anything bad she ever thought about her best friend.

Bonni Sansom 'Jacks Christmas Wish'

Hi Everyone,
I'm really thrilled to have author Bonni Sansom's new book to show you on my blog today! Bonni has a new release available just in time for Christmas.

Excerpt:
The little boy hung his head, a frown on his little face with drooping shoulders. He looked like a wilting flower. "I want a new mom." He said in a hushed tone.
She almost didn't hear him. She glanced at the father, who now looked somber.
Ohmigod, what if she had died? How terrible. Her heart was breaking for them,
at the same time she wished she could be the woman he was interested in. Shame, yes shame, is what she should feel, but she didn't. Instead she felt an attraction.
Not just to the father but to Jack too. She just couldn't explain it. It was a little disconcerting.
Fake Santa didn't seem to know what to do in this situation, so she handed
the little boy a candy cane, and whispered, "Honey, I'm sure your dad loves you enough for two; I know I would." She would too, she decided. Somehow she knew this in her very core. The little boy needed her. She wished she could be there for him and the father.
He took the candy and smiled up at her. "Will you be my new mom?"
That she wasn't expecting. Crap! Now what? I can't very well say yes I'd love
to, now can I? Yeesh!
"Uh no, honey, but I'm sure your dad will find someone." She looked to the dad and he gave a timid smile. Pick me. Please, pick me.
She smiled back, searching those deep blue eyes for any hint of attraction,
because she was feeling loads of it. She might not be his mommy, but she would certainly be girlfriend material. The mommy thing would work itself out.
Jack slumped over again. God, she felt bad for him. He hopped down from
Santa's knee and turned to her. "I would've liked you to be my new mommy.
You're pretty."
Her face heated. "Thank you, Jack." What else could she say? Me too.
The dad stepped up to collect his son. "He's right, you know. You are very
pretty."
Good grief, all the sudden it was seriously hot. All the man had to do was
say she was pretty and she creamed her fuzzy green outfit. His voice was a low baritone that vibrated more than just her ears. Fabulous long blonde lashes framed those blue bedroom eyes. He could have been a GQ model. High masculine cheekbones and a square firm jaw and not to mention those perfectly kissable lips.
She caught herself leaning toward him, trying to get closer to those glorious
features. A compliment will get you everywhere. What a true statement that was.
"Thank you, I'm Lissa."
He chuckled. "You're welcome and I'm Derek. You've already met Jack, and
thank you for saying what you said to him. He's been having a hard time since his mom died."

This book is available to purchase from Amazon NOW!

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello everyone and welcome to another Six Sentences. I'm carrying on with a snippet from my latest release, 'Master Me, Master You'. Picking up the story a little further on:

We walked for a while, he held my hand, which was nice, but he seemed distant. Turning to me after a very quiet 30 minutes he said,
“Come tomorrow, but wear a looser skirt.”
Then he left. I watched him go, l knew l should have been offended, and l was, but behind the annoyance was an increasing desire to get to know the man. There was something compelling about him, something behind those piercing blue eyes. He just excited me, intrigued me, l don’t know exactly what it was, but l do know l spent forty minutes that evening searching for a skirt that would please him.

Hope you enjoyed it, please leave a comment and click on the above link to find all the other authors participating today!

Flash Fiction Friday

Friday is here! Here we go again with another wonderful picture and only 100 words to describe it! It can't be done you say? Watch me!:

"Guess Who?"
David was always creeping up on Max like this and Max was never surprised, he loved the way David's need for physical contact matched his own.
Leaning back into him Max revelled in the soft, yet firm, touch of his wonderful partner.
"Have you had a fresh chest wax?" David asked,
"This afternoon," said Max, "Thought we'd have a special night."
"Every night is special with you Max, is that my shirt you're wearing?"
"Erm, possibly."
"And my aftershave?" David took in the strong scent on Max's smooth throat.
"Erm, probably." said Max.
"Boxers?"
"Don't be silly," said Max, "They're Pauls!".

Miss Coote's Confessions!

Miss Coote's Confessions or The Voluptuous Experiences of an Old Maid

I stumbled across this little gem whilst checking out the competition over on Amazon. The picture enticed me into buying a copy and l have to say l wasn't the slightest bit disappointed! There are four in all but the one l read is the one with the above picture and the title 'Miss Coote's confession, annotated' :

Product Description

Here are the confessions of Miss Rosa Belinda Coote or the Voluptuous Experiences of an Old Maid is a classic tale of flagellation in Victorian Society. Written as a series of letters to an old friend Miss Coote describes her initiation into the world of flagellation by the rod and birch and describes in graphic detail how Miss Coote develops a passion for correction and use of the birch following chastisement by her Grandfather Sir Eyre Coote. A passion she lives out in vivid detail as told in the letters to her friend Nellie.

Published by “Anonymous “in The Pearl Magazine a short lived pornographic magazine published 1879 until 1880. The letters of Miss Coote were probably written by William Lazenby a publisher and writer of erotica, The Pearl was an underground magazine which probably resulted in its early demise.

Miss Cootes story lifts the lid on straight laced Victorian society and describe in graphic detail the use of rod and birch as tools as a means of sexual gratification. Be warned this is not a book suitable for the weak.

Also with an article by Lucy Bowering about erotic spanking.

We now strip all her petticoats off, and undo her stays, fully displaying the large fine plump globes of her splendid bosom, with their pretty pink nipples; then she is fastened up again, and stands with her wrists fastened well above her head. She has her fawn-coloured kid gloves, and the net, as usual, up to her elbows, so as to set off her arms and hands to the best advantage. She has nothing but chemise and drawers to hide her fine figure; but before commencing again, the General orders the latter to be entirely removed and her chemise to be pinned up to the shoulders.

The victim writhes and shrieks with pain at every blow, but refuses to admit her fault, or beg pardon. The sight of her sufferings seemed to nerve my arm, and add to my excitement, the blood seemed delicious in my eyes, and I gradually worked myself up, so that I felt such gushing thrilling sensations as to quite overcome me. The whip was dropped in exhaustion, and I sank back on a seat in a kind of lethargic stupor, yet quite conscious of all that was going on.

EROTIC SPANKING BY LUCY BOWERING

The origins and scope of erotic spanking and flagellation are largely unknown. One of the earliest depictions of erotic flagellation is found in a 6th century BC Etruscan burial site named in modern times the Tomba della Fustigazione or "Tomb of Flogging" after its depictions of eroticized flagellation.

Representations of erotic spanking and flagellation make up a large portion of Victorian pornography (see 1000 Nudes by Koetzle.) Hundreds of thousands of engravings, photographs, and/or literary depictions of spanking and flagellation
("birching") fantasies circulated during the Victorian era, including erotic novellas like The Whippingham Papers, The Birchen Bouquet, Exhibition of Female Flagellants or the pornographic comic opera Lady Bumtickler's Revels.

Many well-known people since their deaths have been discovered to enjoy spankings for erotic purposes or emotional gratification.
A spanking may be carried out with the use of a bare hand, or with any of a variety of implements, including a paddle, strap, hairbrush or belt. Other popular tools are canes, riding crops, whips, switches, birches, sneakers, rolled-up newspapers, rulers or martinet.

In a BDSM context, spanking involves the spankee being physically restrained and the spanker having access to the spankee's buttocks for spanking or whipping, and the full range of spanking implements can be used. There are many scenarios in the home where a spankee can be tied up. For example, the spankee can be tied or handcuffed lying on a bed or couch. On a bed the spankee's legs can be tied together or they can be spread-eagle. The spankee can be tied upright to a doorway or other frame. A popular position is the doggie position, in which the spankee's buttocks are fully presented for spanking.

The spankee can be stooped over touching the toes, or holding onto a chair, couch, bench, desk or table, or kneeling on a bed or couch, stooped over with hands on the floor. The spankee can be tied to furniture, such as a chair or table.

The vivid descriptions in Miss Cootes letters show that the Victorian world was not as straight laced as we have been lead to believe! Enjoy the adventures of Miss Coote.

If spanking (or in this case flogging) is your thing (or one of them) then this book is certainly worth a read! Enjoy!
until next time

Flash Fiction Friday

Well here we go again! Another picture and another 100 words to describe it! :

Ericka the fallen angel approached the waterfall with great care. She knew that just behind it lay the answer to many of her questions. Who was he?
Who was the spirit who visited her bed every night to stroke and carress her body with such tender expertise?
Who was the spirit who ran his fingers through her soft blonde tresses and whispered words of seduction that made her body yearn for fulfilment and her heart beat furiously behind her trembling breasts.
Last night he had entered her as she lay, unable to resist.
When he left she had followed him...here.

Wanna Be a Writer?

Jane Wenham-Jones is a novelist, journalist and presenter and the author of the Wannabe Books - two how-to manuals on getting published and becoming well-known. Below is an extract from Wannabe a Writer?, available on Amazon or through all good bookshops. For more on Jane see http://www.janewenham-jones.com.

Losing the Plot
Whether you plan it exhaustively, or pray it will come to you once you begin, there is one thing you must have if you are going to attempt a work of fiction and that is: A Plot.
“Books without plots are like bodies without skeletons,” says Katie Fforde. “Very unstable.”
But what is the secret of a good one? “Sex,” says Wendy Holden succinctly.
“Power,” cries June Tate.
“It must appeal to oneself,” declares Barbara Erskine.
“It should be fast-moving, with constant peaks and troughs throughout,” offers Bernardine Kennedy, while  Claire Calman speaks of the importance of the “tension between anticipation, delivery and surprise.”

“I think of writing novels as being largely a matter of 'problem solving,' says Isabel Wolff. “How do your characters interconnect in a way that doesn't depend on coincidence - i.e. bumping into each other in the supermarket the whole time?  What - or who - connects them?  How are they going to change during the course of the book?  How do you move your characters around the story - or even just into another room - in a way that is believable?  These are the problems that writers have to solve all the time - and it can really do your head in.”
What all these authors are listing, of course, are the ingredients that contribute to what every single great book has in common  -  its page-turning quality. The thing that makes it “unputdownable” as reviewers are fond of saying these days.  Whatever it is that makes us have to read on, that keeps us glued to the print while the dinner burns.
The hallmark of a brilliant book is that it keeps its readers totally agog to know what happens, to care deeply for the characters, to suspend their disbelief so that they forget it is just a story and are totally transported into that other world.
Easier said than done? Of course. Which is why out of the hundreds of thousands manuscripts produced each year, only a few make it. But why shouldn’t one of them be yours if you too have that gift?
And either you do or you don’t. No point trying to be a second Jilly Cooper or John Grisham  -   aim to be the first one of you!
So stick to your own voice, as successful novelist Lisa Jewell advises. “Trying to emulate another writer’s style is a sure route to writing a rubbish book,” she says candidly.
She is right but ultimately you need both  -  a fresh voice AND a great story or as Sarah Harrison, prolific novelist and author of How to Write a Blockbuster puts it (the capitals are hers!) “STORY FIRST  -  STORY FIRST  -  STORY FIRST  -  STORY FIRST. Oh and did I mention? STORY FIRST.”  She explains: “It’s so much easier to say something if you have something to say.”
And do make sure that story is believable; you want nothing to bring your reader up short. To make him or her stop and think: THAT’S not very likely/wouldn’t have happened. It’s the sort of thing that always disappoints me in  a book, however well-written.
And if, worse, I come across a real inaccuracy  -  a plot twist that couldn’t possibly have happened for example -  it can put me off completely.
